A Breed Inclusive Weekend Getaway at The Stables

XL Dog-Friendly Accommodation in Worcestershire

Rowley Farm Holidays

Our weekend away at The Stables at Rowley Farm Holidays was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a special stay. Tucked away in the heart of the countryside, The Stables offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. They have created the perfect spot for a peaceful retreat where you can unwind, relax, and reconnect with nature. And if you’re a dog guardian, this place takes that relaxation to the next level!

Arrival and Warm Welcome

We arrived on Friday evening, eager to start our weekend escape. After a smooth check-in, we were welcomed with a thoughtful hamper filled with locally sourced goodies, the perfect touch after a long drive. As we unpacked and settled in, we couldn’t help but admire the cosy, open-plan living space. The exposed beams and high ceilings gave the room an airy, spacious feel, with lots of natural lighting which created a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The highlight of the living room was the luxurious leather corner sofa. After a long day at work, and then traveling, the luxurious leather corner sofa was the perfect spot to unwind. The crackling log burner added an extra layer of coziness, creating the ultimate snug setting for a relaxing evening in. The dogs, Moose and Alfie, were equally as comfortable and quickly adjusted to their new surroundings with the help of the underfloor heating. It didn’t take long for them to feel right at home and relaxed!

An Inclusive Dog-Friendly Heaven

One of the things that truly sets The Stables apart is just how dog-friendly it is. For dog owners, this place is a true heaven. Travelling with Moose, our three-legged banned type of dog, presents its own unique challenges, especially given the discrimination many owners like us face. Due to the negative media attention and public misconceptions about his type of dog, we often encounter judgment and suspicion even though he is calm, well-behaved, and loving. It’s a harsh reality for owners like us, and the same applies to those with reactive dogs, who often struggle with being unfairly labeled in the same ways. The stigma surrounding these dogs can make seemingly simple tasks like finding accommodation or enjoying a retreat feel daunting, but it’s important to remember that every dog, regardless of breed or behavior, deserves the opportunity to travel and be able to relax while doing so without judgement.

Unlike so many places that impose restrictions on certain breeds or types of dogs, Rowley Farm Holidays welcomes all dogs with open arms regardless of appearance, reactivity, breed, size, age, or disability. Travelling with Moose, our three-legged banned type of dog can sometimes be stressful, but here, we were met with nothing but respect, kindness, and complete judgment-free acceptance. It was so refreshing to stay somewhere where he wasn’t just tolerated but genuinely welcomed. No matter what kind of dog you have, you will always have a place at Rowley Farm Holidays, making it a true haven for every dog and their human(s).

The property boasts a fully fenced garden, which allowed our boys to roam and explore safely. But the real highlight for our dogs was the onsite, secure field where we had the freedom to let Moose and Alfie run around and for Moose to enjoy some off-lead and muzzle free fun playing fetch!

After their time in the field, it was time for a much needed wash. The dog wash area was well equipped with everything you could need, from a warm shower to lushious dog-friendly shampoo and a peanut butter lick mat to keep them entertained while they were being cleaned. Here Moose and Alfie were well and truly pampered, we couldn’t have asked for a better washing setup. Once they were squeaky clean, we returned to the The Stables where they quickly settled back into the warmth of the underfloor heating, snuggled in their robes by the fire.

A Relaxing Saturday Soak

While the pups were busy drying off, we decided to take full advantage of the peaceful surroundings and free time. One of us got to work on a delicious Katsu stir fry for dinner, while the other got the hot tub ready for a relaxing evening soak. The hot tub, situated in a secluded spot in the secure garden, offered the perfect place to unwind. With the fire roaring away and some non-alcoholic bubbles in hand, we enjoyed a romantic evening under the stars, savoring the peace and quiet of Rowley Farm.

A Sad Farewell

By Sunday, we were already sad to think about leaving. It’s amazing how quickly a weekend like this can make you feel at home. But as much as we didn’t want to leave, we had work commitments awaiting us on Monday. The check-out process was quick and stress-free, which was the perfect way to end our stay.

We left The Stables with lots of memories, already planning our return. It’s not often you find a place that feels so inclusive and warm, especially when traveling with dogs with additional needs. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a peaceful retreat, or a dog-friendly escape, The Stables at Rowley Farm Holidays has it all. We haven’t got anything booked yet but we will definitely be returning!
