Donating to Dogs – the Rowley 2022 Charity of the Year

It’s clear to most of our guests that their four-pawed friends are our true VIP’s when it comes to staying at Rowley.
Yes, it’s true, we can’t hide it any longer – we LOVE dogs!
We love the little ones, the big ones, the muddy ones, the ones some people think look ugly and even the noisy ones. In fact we haven’t found one yet, that we don’t love.
So, when we heard that our local dog rescue centre needed some support, we had to go and take a look…

Far Forest Rescue Centre in Kidderminster has been helping rescue local dogs for years.

For a long time they struggled to find people to look after the stray dogs whilst they tried to match them to new owners. Then in 2012 after a generous donation, the charity were able to purchase their own piece of land and build their own dog’s home.
Since then the Charity has gone from strength to strength helping more and more dogs find new loving homes. However, as numbers have increased the costs of running the centre have too.
Now the charity have to raise £20,000 each month, just to cover their running costs.

So at Rowley Farm we got thinking…
How could we help Far Forest Rescue Centre and more importantly how could our VIP guests help them too?
When a guests stays with a dog we charge them an additional £20 to clean the property, as we all know dog hairs get everywhere!
The girls and I decided that we could donate all of these charges to Far Forest Rescue Centre and help some dogs that really need it.
So, after a visit in half term, lots of cuddles with some gorgeous doggies, we decided that during 2022 we will donated all of our additional charges for dog cleaning to Far Forest Rescue Centre.

We hope that by doing this we can keep in line with our ethos of supporting local charities and businesses and also our passion for animals.
We have already donated £200 to the charity from our guests in January and February, and we will be keeping a running total to see how much we can generate across the year.
